So here I go, off on another adventure. I have been travel nursing and moving around for quite a few years now, and it's time to settle down. Instead of the big cities, like Fort Lauderdale, Houston, Kansas City, and Denver, I am moving to small town Delta Colorado. Right now I should be packing, or sleeping. Instead I am starting a blog!
A wonderful idea I got from new friends at the Bull and Bush in Denver. If you're ever in Denver you should really stop by the place! I will certainly miss having a nice bar with decent food across the street. I'm not sure how good it is for me to have a bar across the street, but it made for some good times.
Maybe I should start this off with a little background. I have been a labor and delivery nurse since 2002. I have been travel nursing off and on since 2004, mostly in Florida. I did a couple jobs in Texas and Missouri also. I am originally from the Kansas City, MO area. I haven't lived there full time since 2003. I have always wanted to go west, to live in the mountains, and be in Colorado. So now, after being sidetracked many many times, I have finally pursued my goal. I found a permanent job on the western slope, and tomorrow I begin my moving journey.
Step one is going to KC to get my stuff out of storage, visit my sister and a few friends, and the road trip to Delta from KC. I plan on spending one night in Denver, making a stop in Breckenridge for my TV (another story I can tell when I get the TV), and the TO DELTA. One of my oldest best friends is actually going to make the drive with me and then fly home from Grand Junction. I'm so excited to have her go with me!
Denver has been okay. Not bad for a big city. I did go exploring, I left town a lot to go hike in various areas. I visited red feather lakes, crystal lake, with my friend Shaunia. Shaunia and I actually met on facebook playing farm town. What a world we live in today.
I hope to go to Lola's one last time on sunday afternoon! No place else makes a drink with corazon blanco, muddled jalepeno and cilantro, and agave nector. Yum. Very different!
So off I go for a nap. Cooper, the awesome traveling beagle mix will be at my side the whole time. I'll try to stop and take some pictures. I hope to keep this updated as I go along.
You can share my journey of adjusting to small town life if you'd like!
